Weight Ups and Downs Before Cook Yourself Thin
I gained a huge amount of weight after my first son was born. I managed to lose a small amount but really had neither the time nor the inclination to diet and before I knew it I was pregnant again.
Well two years had passed and I was running out of excuses. I never really thought I ate a vast amount but looking back I can see where I went wrong: the wrong types of food and way to large portions!
I found myself going out less and less and buying baggier and baggier clothing.
Motivation to Lose Weight
Over the past year I have started to make a new circle of friends at my son’s school, and was soon being asked to more and more social events. This is when I decided that enough was enough and the weight needed to go so I could once again feel like me - more comfortable and good about the way I looked.
I spent hours searching the Internet for a “diet” site to join. This is when I came across CYT. At first I thought it was to good to be true! I really liked the idea of educating myself rather than depriving myself.
How Cook Yourself Thin Helps
CYT has changed the way I view food. I no longer reach for the chocolate when I’m down. I reach for the fruit and the trainers. I’ve found exercise really picks me up! Not something I ever thought I’d hear myself say!
I am now aware of what my body needs to fuel it and have learnt self-control over the treats. In the 5 months I have been a member at CYT, I have gained knowledge of food and how to cook it healthily.
I have also made some fantastic supportive friends on the CYT message boards along the way.
Changes I have made
As a family we are now eating a lot more fruit and veg. I am not afraid to venture out of my comfort zone and try new things. My husband adores the recipes on the site and in his own words “has never eaten so well”.
Both of my children only eat fresh and wholemeal foods and our lives have been vastly improved. We do many activities together and my 6 year old even does my exercise DVD’s with me!
I find it satisfying to be able to run around with the children and not be out of breath after 10 mins.
I can honestly say that I haven’t found following CYT difficult in anyway.
I am eating better and tastier food than ever and if I want a treat then I have one. I haven’t deprived myself, just had things in moderation.
I did find it hard to motivate myself to exercise at first, but once I started it was hard to believe how good it made me feel. Now it’s just a part of my daily routine.
The Difference Losing Weight Has Made
I have lost 2 stone since 21st Feb 08 and I can’t remember ever being this happy with myself. My confidence has grown and my relationships with my husband and children have improved vastly. I feel that my children now have the healthy, happy mummy they deserve.

- Drink plenty of water during the day especially before meals.
- Set yourself small achievable goals and focus on one at a time.
- Use the message boards, they are very inspirational, and keep you away from the biscuit tin!
- Try to work out at a manageable rate that can be maintained as part of your daily routine.
- In addition, the main thing is to enjoy what you are doing and make it a change in lifestyle; after all, it is not a diet.
